Dear NightFall Astrology readers,
These last few weeks have been hard on all of us. I know what you’re thinking: 2-year long pandemic, and now the Russia/Ukraine conflict? When is it going to end?
All I can tell you is that while things will continue to change and probably get worse before they get better in the long run (the Saturn/Pluto and Jupiter/Saturn conjunctions in Capricorn and Aquarius of January 2020 and December 2021 have started for us a 20-year cycle within a 36-year one of more control and digitalisation), we will be getting a few breaks here and there with some lighter energy such as this week’s Full Moon in Virgo and the upcoming Jupiter/Neptune conjunction in Pisces in April 2022 (I’ll be discussing it in detail in another horoscope).
The current stellium (3 or more planets in a sign) in Pisces consisting of the Sun, Mercury, Jupiter and Neptune has brought for sure more compassion and empathy into our lives and has expanded our spiritual and artistic practices. Such energy helps navigate the world’s woes more easily. It’s no news for you, I’m sure, but the week has already started with the Full Moon in Virgo energy, the sign ruling health, purity (physical, mental, psychological and spiritual), daily routine, work and co-workers, being of service to others, rational/analytical thinking, and self-mastery, and we’ve been already seeing the last pandemic restrictions (the vaccine passports and mandatory masks) being dropped in France. Full Moons are always about completions and endings.
The peculiarity of this week is that it marks a new beginning too! The astrological new year symbolised by the Spring equinox and the Sun’s ingress into feisty and courageous Aries!
Here’s your weekly horoscope:
1. The T-square among the Moon, Venus, Mars and Uranus:
This challenging configuration that was ongoing on March 14th-15th, with its focal point (point of energetic intensity), had us starting our week with a lot of frustration and wanting to break free from any limitations to our creative and individual self-expression (Leo). The line that would come to mind is: “I don’t care! I wanna do me! It’s my time to shine!”. However, our friends, associates, colleagues, significant others, fellow club/organisation members (Venus and Mars in Aquarius) might have shown or told us otherwise. Our bank account or resources, in general, had us hit an unexpected fork in the road too (Uranus in Taurus) that might have seemed like a stalemate for most of March 15th (the Moon was void, of course, between 12:30 PM and 6:30 AM (CET) on March 16th).
I’m sure whatever situation that has triggered our defence/coping mechanisms also pushed us towards significant action to solve it; that’s how squares act in general; they require effort. In this case, we’ve tried probably a little too hard with the Moon in proud and fiery Leo and Mars being involved. Such heightened tension should be channelled into something productive, and if your efforts aren’t giving you any results, hit the gym to cool off. That’s what I did, and it worked pretty well for me.
The Venus/Uranus square will be ongoing from March 16th until March 21st (exact on March 19th). On one hand, it will be highlighting sudden emotional changes, setting free from some emotional blockages, feelings of overexcitement, unexpected desire to spend money and impulsive purchases, alongside the inflow of new creative ideas.
On the other hand, this tense aspect heightens our anxiety and nervousness because of some outer circumstances. It could translate into uncontrollable emotional reactions to unexpected events, conflict with a partner or a significant other, feeling misunderstood, and unexpected financial losses.
This tense transit will be most challenging for Leo, Aquarius, Scorpio, and Taurus.
2. The Full Moon in 28° of Virgo:
Thanks to the above-mentioned T-square, bringing some order into our court has started early this week. But, as the old saying goes, “we have to finish what we’ve started”. And what better timing than a full moon to complete a project, put an end to a situation or get closure through the ‘illumination’ of all the facts in all Virgo-related matters?
This full Moon will be taking place on March 18th at 9:17 AM (CET) at 28° of Virgo. It will probably mark an ending, a letting go, or a culmination of a situation that has started unfolding in our lives from last year’s New Moon in Virgo that happened on September 7th, 2021.
A full moon consists of an opposition (180°), a tense aspect, between the Sun and the Moon. It’s a polarity, so a balancing point should be found. Here, we have the Sun in 28° of Pisces and the Moon in 28° of Virgo. 28° is a critical degree indicating a crisis-like ending similar to making a final push before breaking free from a burdensome situation. The Virgo/Pisces axis is the axis of health, routine/discipline, illness, karmic debt, isolation, illusion, and spirituality. Any issues on the Virgo end (lack of discipline and rigour alongside neglected health) will automatically cause problems on the Pisces end (chronic illness, isolation, exclusion, disconnection from Source/God).
The karmic nature of this Full Moon is enhanced by the fact that it will be in a kite configuration with the Nodes, Neptune, and Pluto. This astrological pattern is formed by an opposition (the one of the Full Moon), a Grand Earth Trine (among the Moon in Virgo, the North Node in Taurus and Pluto in Capricorn), and two sextiles between the Sun in Pisces, the North Node, and Pluto. The energy of this pattern is considered more auspicious than that of a regular Grand Trine because of the challenging opposition from the Sun and Neptune (focal points of the kite) that pushes us towards taking the necessary action to heal and free ourselves from our burdens. The sextiles will ensure that our effort won’t be in vain.
The opposition and sextile to Pluto also bring the much-needed clarity and laser focus within the muddied mind by Mercury (the dispositing/ruling planet of the Full Moon) transiting its fall/weakest sign of Pisces. Adding Jupiter to the Pisces side of this Full Moon (stellium) opens us up to having more faith in ourselves and the Universe instead of getting lost in the tiny details of the situation (Moon in Virgo). The surprise factor will also be there as Mercury will be in a sextile (positive aspect) with Uranus in Taurus, from March 15th until March 18th (exact on March 17th), opening the doors for receiving good news, finding a missing piece of information, stimulating and energising conversations, and the inflow of new ideas.
If you’re sorting through chaos, start with a master list. Write out all the things you need to finish, clean up and execute in the coming two weeks. But don’t just autopilot into your old, industrious methods. How can you work smarter rather than harder? From apps to virtual assistants, seek out better productivity and project management systems. Wellness is also in the Virgoan spotlight. Is it time to switch up your routines for spring? Heed Sea God Neptune’s influence, upping your water intake, finding a pool for lap swims and dancing as much as you can!
Numerologically, 28° is reduced to 10 and then to 1, representing the Sun, Leo, and Aries. Meaning that with this intense full moon, any final crisis it may bring will catapult us into a rebirth of our identity, will, and courage! This is the time to embrace the spiritual warrior within us!
This Full Moon will affect most strongly Virgo, Pisces, Gemini, and Sagittarius. More specifically, those of you who have your Sun, Moon, Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven, I.C. or any other important planet or point in your chart around 28° of these signs (give or take 2-3 degrees, the maximum orb being 5 degrees).
3. The spring equinox and the start of Aries season:
Sunday, March 20th marks both the spring equinox AND the astrological New Year as the solar calendar flips over and begins anew with Aries Season. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, and it’s a Cardinal Fire sign, meaning it’s all about awakening the brave, courageous and competitive side of you for the next four weeks! It’s time to switch the passionate new initiatives button on! Get inspired by the blossoming nature around you! Everything’s starting anew!
Live-out-loud Aries season is a time to grab life by the horns and push the envelope on maximalism. Are you living on your edge? Go for the gold…and if you happen to snatch a title from a complacent contender (who didn’t see you coming), don’t feel bad. It’s a personal growth experience for everyone!
Aries season will be most beneficial for Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Gemini, and Aquarius.
Cancer, Capricorn and Libra should watch their temper!
Use this Full Moon to expiate your sins and burdens!
