We’re breaking free! There’s not a star in heaven that we can’t reach! New Moon in Aquarius! Mercury & all planets Direct! All Signs Collective Horoscope (January 31st-February 6th)

Well, my darlings, it’s time to put your architect caps on because this is precisely what the Universe is guiding you towards with this year’s only New Moon in Aquarius and all the planets going direct telling you to: go, go, go!

But don’t worry, you don’t have to figure it all out this week, simply use this reboot of a universal sense of wonder! Aquarius is the sign of hopes and the future. This idealistic lunar lift brings you the opportunity to visualise new possibilities—even if they don’t seem, er, possible quite yet. Where would the world be without the changemakers who dared to think outside the box? Your utopian ideals are needed more than ever as everything “normal” slips away, and a “new abnormal” emerges.

Here’s your weekly horoscope.

• Right off the bat, we start the week (and the year!) with a New Moon in Aquarius coinciding with the Chinese New Year on Tuesday, February 1st. The Chinese New Year is celebrated by arguably 1/4 of humanity. Even if you don’t follow Chinese Astrology, 2 billion people around the world do, therefore, according to the Law of Attraction, even if there is no basis to that system (which I do believe it works just as well as any type of astrology), the fact that so many people believe a black tiger is roaring this year, well, you can rest assured that it will. Tigers are associated with boldness and creativity; they are the hunters who don’t only chase game but also ideas, innovations, and new opportunities. Compared to other tigers, the water tiger is a bit more careful and calmer. Anyways, back to our New Moon: it’ll be happening exactly on February 1st at 6:46 AM (CET) at 13° of Aquarius. New Moons are always about new beginnings, and with it being in Aquarius (a fixed air sign), it’s all about new original ideas about our future and long-term goals; groups of people we’d like to associate and connect with; higher causes, freedom and rebellion; starting new online networks (and anything social-media related); connecting with the higher mind, knowledge and spirituality (here, it goes beyond religion, so you might find yourself strongly drawn to astrology and other occult sciences); innovation, technology and science; the cosmos in general.

Whenever Aquarius is involved, you can be sure that the energy is electric and fast! So let’s put this New Moon under the “microscope” (very Aquarian term) and examine it more closely.

1st off, this New Moon will be in conjunction with its main ruling planet: Saturn (meaning that whatever new ideas, projects, connections and/or situations start to unfold in your life at this time, they’ll be karmic). It’s time for all of us to face our karma; that’s what’s Saturn is asking from us. Saturn rules boundaries, discipline, fear, sacrifice and structure, and in Aquarius, it’s all about foundations that allow you to build things up. Moreover, with it forming the most potent aspect in astrology (conjunction aka 0° angle) to the New Moon, your plans will be idealistic but well thought of.

Since the moon rules our emotions and the Sun our willpower, yes, Saturn conjoining this New Moon will bring feelings of restriction and taciturn moodiness. But! Aquarius’s second ruling planet, Uranus, will be squaring (challenging aspect) the New Moon, gunning hard for a perspective shift. Bear in mind that Saturn is still in a loose square (5° orb) with Uranus, intensifying the contradictory energy of “discipline versus rebellion”.

So, how do we reconcile both energies? On the one hand, we might be feeling that we need to go over and over again an innovative plan that we’ve been thinking about for quite some time (probably since Saturn entered Aquarius in December 2020). On the other hand, we can be animated by a strong urge to take action and go through with it fast. The key here is to trust the methodology you’ve come up with and stick to it. JUST DO IT. Aquarius is a fixed air sign, i.e. whatever idea it comes up with, it fixates on it and builds long-lasting results with it. That’s why I gave you the architect comparison earlier in this article.

Since Uranus is in tactile Taurus, activating your five senses will get your higher mind whirring. Burn a scented candle, pipe in a new playlist, give yourself a hand massage with a soothing creme. Even if it’s chilly, bundle up for a little outdoor time, or plant yourself by a window with a scenic view. Uranus will also be making a minor Grand Trine (or bissextile which is a harmonious configuration) with Venus in Capricorn and Jupiter in Pisces. So, whatever you set your mind to, don’t do it alone! Aquarius is the sign of community, connect to something bigger than yourself. Form a support or mastermind group with people who are working to achieve the same goals. Get involved in activism or a social cause that speaks to your heart. Set up a coworking metaverse with friends who are working from home. And above all, have faith and don’t fall into Saturn’s fear.

Despite the contradictory energy of “push and pull” that this New Moon brings, it will still catapult us into a new life that will come full circle around the Full Moon in Aquarius that’ll be happening on August 11th-12th (depending on your time zone) even more so if we take into account its numerological symbolism. Indeed, the New Moon will be at 13° of Aquarius, which reduces to a 4: Uranus’s number. So yes, the energy can be disruptive and eruptive but will be kept under some kind of control because of Saturn’s influence. Also, in Tarot, the major arcana card number 4 is “the Emperor”, indicating that this is the time to take the lead in your life.

I often say in my horoscopes that with freedom comes responsibility; can you handle both? If the answer is yes, then from now until the Full Moon in Aquarius, whatever seeds you plant on this New Moon, and if you put the necessary work in, you’ll reach tremendous growth, elevation and enlightenment in your life.

The signs that are going to struggle the most with this New Moon, but who will also need it the most, are the fixed signs: Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, and Scorpio. However, if they really harness the energy, they’re the ones who could reap the most rewards. More specifically, those of you who have your Sun, Moon, Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven, I.C. or any other important planet or point in your chart around 13° of these signs (give or take 2-3 degrees, the maximum orb being 5 degrees). 

• Another surge of momentum arrives on Thursday and Friday, February 3rd-4th (depending on your time zone), as Mercury wraps up its retrograde and powers ahead in go-getter Capricorn. After three weeks of red tape and false starts, a plan begins to emerge that COULD get the green light you’ve been waiting for. A consensus was hard to come by while Mercury backed up through Aquarius from January 14th to 25th, and once it slipped into Capricorn, debates turned into frustrating power struggles. Don’t expect things to repair themselves. You may need to call a summit or extend an olive branch. Overnight fixes are also out of the question since the retrograde’s shadow (AKA “retroshade”) lingers until February 24th, when Mercury retraces its steps and makes it back to 11° of Aquarius, the degree where it began its backspin. Forge ahead, but be patient with the process.

Finally, with Mercury starting to move direct again, all planets in the sky will be in a forward motion until April 29th! Ride the wave of this cosmic momentum and make your resolutions, dreams, and goals come true!
