This square suggests that the usual patterns in relationships and finances could be disrupted. Those grand romantic plans? Well, they might not go as smoothly as envisioned. Instead, this week may see impromptu changes, perhaps even last-minute cancellations or spontaneous adventures. Uranus in Taurus is akin to an earthquake in a calm field, shaking up the comfortable routines Venus in Leo adores. This New Moon in Leo holds the promise of significant abundance and remarkable rewards, as it brings a heightened sense of excitement and enthusiasm towards actions aligned with your passions. Personally, I find this New Moon particularly exhilarating.

The Leo New Moon will occur on 4th August 2024, at 1:13 PM (CET). New Moons signify new beginnings, marking the commencement of the lunar cycle when the Moon aligns with the Sun, creating the dark Moon. During this phase, the Moon is invisible to the naked eye, and this event will transpire at 12 degrees of Leo.

Leo, where the Sun is naturally at home, is an inherently flamboyant and larger-than-life sign, characterised by warmth and intensity. Ruled by the Sun, Leo is metaphorically the centre of the universe, incapable of operating in a low-key manner. It is the epitome of nonchalance, or rather, “chalant.” This New Moon will be anything but subtle; it will be an emphatic declaration of “I am doing this, and I am proud of it. Everyone, look at me!”

Positioned at 12 degrees of Leo, this New Moon falls in the second decan, which is ruled by Jupiter. This decan is imbued with the expansive and generous qualities of Jupiter, enhancing the Leo traits of leadership, charisma, and confidence. This alignment suggests a period of significant personal growth, celebration of achievements, and the potential for notable success.

Additionally, this New Moon will be conjunct the fixed star Acubens, Alpha Cancri, a star system located in the left claw of the Crab in the Cancer constellation. The traditional name Acubens is derived from the Arabic term الزوبنة (al zubanāh), meaning “the claws.”

Acubens, of the nature of Saturn and Mercury, has been referred to as “the sheltering or hiding place.” It is known to impart activity, malevolence, and poison, often associated with deceit and criminal behaviour. However, it also endows individuals with strength, perseverance, and a logical mind, enabling them to be outspoken, hold high ideals, and excel as speculators and organisers. This star is characterised by its dual nature: while it possesses a Martian influence suggesting aggression, it also carries a strong Saturnian quality, imparting caution and strategic thinking.

The primary star in the Acubens system has a visual magnitude of 4.00 and its companion a magnitude of 11.0. The primary’s spectrum is classified as A3-white and its companion as FO-yellow. Despite its challenging reputation, Acubens can bestow its natives with a sharp intellect and a strong sense of purpose, particularly when faced with adversity or external pressures.

This conjunction of the New Moon with Acubens suggests a period marked by high ambition and the drive to achieve one’s goals, sometimes through creating challenging situations for others. The influence of Acubens may bring forth a need to navigate difficulties with strategic intelligence and resilience. It offers an opportunity for significant contributions in one’s field, provided the efforts are guided by integrity and strong moral principles.

In this New Moon, we see the combination of Leo’s vibrant energy, the expansive influence of Jupiter, and the complex characteristics of Acubens. The alignment invites us to pursue our passions with enthusiasm and to achieve greatness through perseverance and strategic intelligence, while remaining mindful of the ethical implications of our actions.

Mars is approaching a conjunction with Jupiter in Gemini. Mars in Gemini enhances mental agility and dedication to intellectual projects, while Jupiter, the planet of positivity and abundance, amplifies this energy. This conjunction fosters courageous, valorous actions marked by high effort and strong morals. Mars and Jupiter together exude a regal energy, akin to a returning hero.

This conjunction signifies effort imbued with courage and high moral standards. In Gemini, this alignment suggests that plans and thoughts around this New Moon will be executed with wholesome, morally upright effort, yielding positive outcomes.

However, a square to Saturn retrograde in Pisces indicates potential blockages, delays, or internal hesitations. This suggests a period of reconsideration rather than immediate action. The overall energy, though, remains one of valor—a somewhat archaic term, but fitting. A loose square to Neptune suggests minimal delusion, with most difficulties arising from relationship chaos. Despite this, there is substantial effort, dedication, and excitement surrounding this New Moon.

Mercury will be in Virgo, where it is both at home and exalted, ensuring clear, direct, and eloquent communication during this period.
