Dear NightFall Astrology readers,
Hesitation has been the game’s name since last Sunday’s Full Moon in Aries! Sure, we’ve realised many things about our identities, purged some ego wounds, and gotten honest with what we actually want and need in our relationships. But, when it comes to acting upon all that (we might have rushed things too), it all seemed blurry and unclear, and we even might have gotten mixed reactions from our significant others, friends, family members, and/or business partners.
Mars in Gemini has been slowing down and getting ready to station retrograde on October 30th, throwing us into confusion since last weekend. It will continue to do so throughout the week with its ongoing square to Neptune retrograde in Pisces (the first in a series of three squares). Thankfully, logic and reason will enter the stage this week, with Mercury returning to harmonious and diplomatic Libra (still in shadow, though, so situations might not get 100% clear) and the Sun, Venus, and Saturn retrograde in Aquarius, and (naughty) Mars in forming a gorgeous high-minded Grand Trine!
Here’s your weekly horoscope.
1. Mercury re-enters Libra:
This Monday, October 10th, Mercury returns to Libra, restoring harmony to fractured bonds. How balanced is your perspective? Did you judge someone’s idea too quickly last month while Mercury was retrograde (September 9th to October 2nd), or write them off because you didn’t see eye to eye? Justifiable reasons notwithstanding, reconsider your hardline perspective over the next few weeks. Fair-minded Mercury in Libra reminds you that every coin has two sides. Even if you agree to disagree, can you hear someone else’s point of view? That willingness alone can invite proactive dialogue (which Mercury in Libra lives for). From there, don’t be surprised if an unexpected solution emerges. Even if negotiations are time-consuming, a patient, peaceful approach will be the most effective. Since Mercury already passed through Libra once from August 25th to September 23rd, don’t be surprised if this is your second time back at the dealmaking table.
Mercury’s transit in Libra will be most supportive of Libra, Gemini, Virgo, Aquarius, Leo, and Sagittarius.
2. Mercury opposes Jupiter:
From October 11th until October 14th (exact on October 12th), Mercury in Libra will oppose (challenging aspect) Jupiter retrograde in Aries. This energy is favourable for intellectual discussions, mental pursuits, productive debates, and long-term plans.
On the more negative side, this can translate into a tendency for exaggeration and overestimation, focusing too much on the big picture and not paying attention to details, foolish leaps of faith due to an overly optimistic attitude, intellectual arrogance, and clashes with others around ideas and beliefs.
Libra, Aries, Cancer, and Capricorn should be most cautious with this transit.
3. Harmony between faith and reason: the Grand Air Trine:
The first Mars-Neptune square that we mentioned earlier becomes exact this Wednesday, October 12th. Don’t jump the gun, for you could rush into a situation that sounds a lot more promising than it actually is. Details may be purposely obscured or, thanks to Mars in fast-talking Gemini, you could get lured in by a slick sales pitch. A “user-friendly” person might butter you up to get what they want, then leave you hanging. On your end, make sure you can truly deliver before you commit to anything. If an offer sounds promising, give yourself a few days to run the numbers, consider the time involvement and weigh this all against your existing obligations. It feels great to be generous, but with sacrificial Neptune in Pisces, you could get pulled underwater trying to fix someone else’s problems. Nonetheless, the Mars-Neptune square can be healing, too. Midweek, you may finally gather the courage to bring up an important subject or reveal your buried brilliance!
Not only that, but from October 11th until October 18th, quickfire Mars gets grounded, pragmatic and reasonable by forming a Grand Air Trine (powerfully harmonious configuration) with our life-giving Star (the Sun), the planet of love and harmony (Venus in Libra) alongside the planet of karma that’s getting ready to station direct on October 23rd (Saturn in Aquarius). Among these four planets, we have two of them in their home signs (Venus and Saturn), making this Grand Trine even more powerful.
We’ve already been seeing the positive manifestation of this Grand Trine in some parts of the world, with Israel and Lebanon finally striking a historic deal around their maritime border. This benevolent energy shows that, on a mundane level, there will be the opportunity to soften the edges of military interventions and conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy and leaders setting their excessive egos aside. On the flip side, this trine could add more fuel to the fire and worsen things. Let’s hope that world leaders will continue to intentionally use their logic and reason and keep their citizens’ highest good in mind.
This aspect will peak on October 14th-15th, when the Moon in Gemini will conjoin Mars and square Neptune, which can result in floods and other water-related natural disasters, maritime military attacks, and/or storms/hurricanes affecting coastal regions.
On a personal level, this aspect brings tremendous support to anyone who has or is willing to align their faith and reason to make amends and resolve past or lingering issues/conflicts through the power of empathy and unconditional divine love. Old flames could be reignited.
This Grand Air Trine will be most auspicious for Libra, Gemini, and Aquarius.
“The splendour of the divine truths, received into the mind, helps the understanding.”

Have an enlightening week!
