Dear NightFall Astrology readers,
This week, we’ll be torn between our inner critics and our urge for magic and wonder! As Venus, the planet ruling our values, money, and relationships, enters Virgo (the sign of its fall), and Mercury turns retrograde for the next three weeks, the potential nitpicking in these areas could turn into a fruitful reevaluation that reaps its own rewards. Oh, but what about romance, Theodora? Fear not! The upcoming Full Moon in Pisces will illuminate the unconditional love and connection to the divine in each one of us while helping us let go of any illusions and heal our hearts. “Surrender, and let the universe reveal its wisdom” is the key phrase for this Full Moon.
Here’s your weekly horoscope.
1. Venus enters Virgo:
On Monday, September 5th, at exactly 6:05 AM (CET), Venus enters Virgo and will remain in this sign until September 29th. Venus is in its fall in Virgo (the opposite sign of Pisces, where it’s exalted), meaning it can’t deliver its optimal energy and qualities. Virgo is a sign of discernment and intellect. Venus, in the sign of Virgo, is showing values through criticism. It shows up as more serious interactions in relationships where we’re pointing out flaws that can be fixed and having more discerning internal dynamics in our love life.
This sensible cycle can be quite sensual if you slow down and appreciate the little things. And get physical—with self-care, a pleasurable exercise routine (solo or with your significant other) and lots of affection. While tenderness is always important, “acts of service” is the primary love language that Venus in Virgo speaks. Ask not what your lover can do for you. Instead, learn how to give a killer shoulder rub, cook bae’s favourite meal and support their dreams in every way possible. Put phones away and give your undivided attention to the one you love. Listen generously, give advice only if asked and keep feedback constructive (not critical). Single and looking? Start with the intellectual connection. Take a timeout from the dating apps and see who you might meet at a book club or spiritual discussion group. Long, analytical conversations can be the key to deeper connection during this sapiosexual Venus spell.
This transit is happening during a Mercury retrograde (the dispositing planet of Venus in Virgo) in both Libra and Virgo, so we’re rethinking our communication and perception in relationships (romantic, business, family, friends). It’s less about emotions and more about relationships’ pragmatic and intellectual aspects. With Venus’s dispositor being retrograde, this makes its transit in its fall sign even more difficult because of communication issues, so, again, tapping into our patience and listening skills is crucial here. What begins as a meeting of the minds could evolve into much, much more!
This transit will most strongly affect Virgo, Pisces, Sagittarius, and Gemini.
2. Mercury stations retrograde:
Retrograde alert! Messenger Mercury shifts into reverse this Saturday, September 10th at 5:38 AM (CET) — never welcome news, I know, I know. For the next three weeks, think twice before you speak, post or press “send.” With the communication planet backing through fair-minded Libra and pernickety, critical Virgo (starting September 23rd), the margin for error will be slim. Since Libra is associated with legal matters, review contracts to ensure you’re in compliance. This deep dive could save you future legal issues or set a healthier tone for your work environment. Knowledge is power — and on an emotional level, the path to feeling safe and secure! Even the best relationships could drift into choppy waters between now and October 2nd. Patience and level-headedness will be required to keep things on an even keel. Exes will be especially prone to reminiscing—consider yourself warned!
This transit will most strongly affect Libra, Aries, Cancer, Capricorn, Virgo, Pisces, Sagittarius, and Gemini.
3. Full Moon in Pisces:
On September 10th, at exactly 11:59 AM (CET), 2022’s only Full Moon in 17° of Pisces loosens our clutches, and we’re privy to the “source code” that’s embedded in things like divine timing, serendipities, and dreams.
Full Moons are always about releases, illumination, culmination, and endings. In the mutable sign of Pisces, we’re releasing too much moodiness, ambiguity, indecision, and illusion that can lead to breakthroughs in our mental health.
A Full Moon is formed by an opposition (tense aspect) between the Moon and the Sun. On the one hand, we have the Moon in the second decan of Pisces, represented by the “9 of cups” Tarot card (the wish fulfilment card) and ruled by Jupiter (Pisces’ traditional ruler). This card symbolises our internal and external fulfilment in our lives. It’s showing a really welcome balance between our internal and external work paying off. When this card is inverted, it shows dissatisfaction with the inner work we’ve been doing on ourselves and how little it has paid off externally, and vice versa (i.e. material success versus emotional emptiness).
On the other hand, the Sun is in the 2nd decan of Virgo, represented by the 9 of pentacles card in Tarot (or the Lord of Gain card) and ruled by Venus. This card symbolises gaining through efficiency and small steps; this isn’t about overnight success. The lady in the card has put a lot of work and effort into building her “perfect garden”, but is it really perfect?
We’re releasing the attachment towards needing it to look a certain way (the perfectionist side of Virgo). Just keep going and trust (Pisces) the process and the Divine guidance you’re receiving through little signals and synchronicities. Mars is throwing a wide, but still active, square (6-degree orbit) to the Full Moon (forming a T-square with both luminaries), so the negative significations could be predominant. With Mars already slowing down and entering its shadow period (the path a planet follows during its retrograde) — 8 to 25 degrees of Gemini in this case — there could be frustration, nervousness, and mental tension regarding the end results we’re witnessing on this Full Moon. So don’t fall into the negative martyr archetype of Pisces; acknowledge what you’ve achieved so far, and keep progressing little by little towards your goals. An excellent emotional release for this Full Moon could be summed up as: “stop your pity party”, which will be magically and suddenly facilitated by the sextile (harmonious aspect) the Full Moon will be making to Uranus retrograde in Taurus.
The dispositing planet of this Full Moon, Jupiter retrograde in Aries, will be in an applying opposition to Mercury retrograde in Libra, which is technically a challenging aspect. Still, with Jupiter being the bigger benefic, we could use going back to some of that joy and optimism regarding our mindset and communication regarding the specific situation we’re releasing or is culminating on the Full Moon. The second dispositor of the Full Moon, Neptune retrograde in Pisces, will be conjoining it, so yes, secrets could be unveiled, which can cause us to feel confused, but again, with Jupiter, faith is critical here. The answers we need are coming in the most magical of ways.
On the collective level, Neptunian matters can be in the spotlight: hospitals, prisons, immigrants, refugees, unemployment, drugs, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas…
Finally, whatever situation is being released or culminating at this Full Moon, it has probably started around the New Moon in Pisces that took place on March 2nd, 2022.
Pisces, Sagittarius, Virgo, and Gemini will feel this full moon most intensely. Especially those of you who have your Sun, Moon, Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven, IC or any other important planet or point in your chart around 17° of these signs (give or take 2-3 degrees).
“Life is not merely a series of meaningless accidents or coincidences, but rather, it’s a tapestry of events that culminate in an exquisite, sublime plan.”
Serenidipity movie (2001).
Have a magical week!
