Dear NightFall Astrology readers,
“It’s not about the yucky love stuff; it’s about longevity”. That’s the catchphrase for this week’s long-awaited conjunction between the planet of love (Venus) and the planet of passion and drive (Mars) in serious and steady Capricorn. Does this mean our Valentine’s Day and the upcoming week will be without an ounce of excitement, glamour, and surprises from our significant others? Of course not! The same day the conjunction becomes exact, we’ll also be having a full moon in Leo (the sign that rules the heart and love)! Not only that, but we’ll also be witnessing the first major aspect that Jupiter will be making to an outer planet (Uranus) since it entered Pisces in December 2021! And guess what? It’s a positive and lucky one!
Whatever your situation is, you’ll get the chance to take to the next level your relationships and long-term goals and shake things up. The entire week is a peak period that will bring clarity and cosmic support to see some of your dreams finally come true!
Here’s your weekly horoscope.
- On February 14th, Mercury will slip back into Aquarius after leaving it to return for the last 2 weeks in Capricorn during its retrograde, making us rethink our career direction, ambition, long-term plans, and relationship with hierarchy in general since the end of December 2021. Bear in mind that we’re still in Mercury’s shadow (the path that Mercury traced between 25° of Capricorn and 11° of Aquarius), so it can still feel like retrograde energy causing some issues and hiccups in our communication, vehicles, short-distance travel, and high-tech items. It’ll get out of its shadow zone on February 24th, so any delays in old or ongoing communication projects, courses, contracts, trade and marketing will start to fade away.
A word of caution, though: on February 15th, Mercury becomes invisible in the sky to the naked eye until April 11th. Starting new projects in one of the abovementioned areas will be more challenging during this period. When Mercury is invisible, the energy is internalised, so we become more introspective. But fear not! This is an excellent time to do any behind-the-scenes Mercurial work.
The good news is that in Aquarius, Mercury and thus our mind becomes lighter and more open to new ideas and innovation. We’re more eager to learn, experiment, and freely express our thoughts and views. Our inventiveness will start being more externalised and thus more and more communicated when Mercury gets into phase after its superior conjunction with the Sun in Aries on April 2nd. From April 11th until May 5th, let your ingenuity skyrocket like never before! That’s when Mercury will be visible as an Evening Star (the archetype of the Greek God Hermes, the messenger of the Gods), pushing our intellectual and communication skills to their maximum!
Mercury’s transit in Aquarius will be most favourable for Aquarius, Libra, Gemini, Aries, and Sagittarius.
- From February 14th until the end of February (exact on February 16th), Venus will conjoin (0° angle and the most potent aspect in astrology) Mars in Capricorn. As we mentioned earlier, this meetup would usually indicate that the love and passion sparks will be flying high or even a love at first sight type of situation. That would have been true if these 2 planets weren’t meeting in cold and dry Capricorn. Nonetheless, Mars is exalted (its 3rd best position) in this sign and is very focused and goal-oriented. Venus, the planet ruling our desires, isn’t in its strongest position here, but it’s not in its signs of detriment or fall either, which isn’t half bad.
So what do we end up with? We end up with an excellent combination for materialising stable and long-term partnerships, whether in love, friendship or career. This could end up in a marriage proposal or getting the new job you’ve been working and hoping for, for example. The conjunction will be making a minor Grand Trine or bissextile (positive configuration) with lucky Jupiter in Pisces and electric Uranus in Taurus that could bring sudden opportunities. Don’t waste them!
The Venus/Mars conjunction in Capricorn will be most auspicious for Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo, Pisces, and Scorpio.
- Also, on February 16th, we’ll be having a full moon in 28° of Leo at 5:56 PM (CET). Full moons are always about completions, endings, realisations, the illumination and the culmination of situations. In Leo, the main themes will revolve around love and romance, children, creativity and creative self-expression, speculative gains, hobbies, and getting pushed into the spotlight in general.
Despite not making any major tense aspects with the malefic planets (Mars and Saturn), this full moon will be squaring the nodal axis in Taurus and Scorpio, ending in a very karmic and tense astrological configuration called a “fixed Grand Cross”. So yes, this full moon will feel like the fight of all fights, like labour, like an unavoidable fated decision, like a dramatic Shakespearean love scene! It will most probably bring to fruition and wrap up whatever we have started around the last New Moon in Leo that happened on August 8th, 2021.
A full moon is formed when the Sun and the Moon are exactly opposite each other forming a 180° angle. Let us unpack what each square from the Sun and the Moon to the nodes means.
- The Sun in Aquarius square the nodes: this gives a sense of increased personal power, and by taking the right action, one can really shine and create massive energy putting oneself in the spotlight. This is the time for vital lessons regarding all of us as humanity. Where are we going? What’s our purpose? Are we able to unite despite our differences and look at the objective truth? Are we willing to lose a part of our selfishness to win at a greater rate? The exchange is levelling up into our greater mastery and selves. This ushers futuristic game-changers and significant growth for our souls.
- The Moon in Leo square the nodes: this is very emotionally intense (we’re talking about a full moon here after all, and the moon rules our emotions!). The nodes are actually the nodes of the moon itself, so this makes this square extra challenging. We will feel like something much larger than ourselves is running our world. We’ll actually feel the pull or the tug from Universe, God, Spirit, guardian angels, crossed-over loved ones… This is a time when we can receive messages through our intuition. The Moon rules and represents our intuition. This is the time when we can really have vivid dreams. And because this full moon is so intense, this is the perfect time to relax, do some meditation and/or shadow work, see a therapist or an astrologer… This is when you’ll really see that you’re co-creating your destiny with the Universe. We may also get the chance to work on unresolved mother or family issues.
And if that wasn’t dramatic and critical enough for you, well, not only this full moon will be squaring the nodal axis, but it will also be conjoining the Royal Star “Regulus” (the heart of the Lion at 29°50’ of Leo)! Briefly, this fixed star is of the nature of Mars and Jupiter (great pride, grandly liberal, commanding, cosmopolitan views). It gives violence, destructiveness, military honour of short duration, with ultimate failure, imprisonment, violent death, success, high and lofty ideals and strength of spirit, and makes its natives magnanimous, grandly liberal, generous, ambitious, fond of power, desirous of command, high-spirited and independent.
Regulus is one of the most fortunate stars in the heavens. It portends glory, riches, and power to all who are born under its influence. Proclus (412-485) called Regulus the “Royal Star” and asserted that those born under it have a royal-like nativity.
In mundane astrology, the Leo Constellation is associated with royal events, especially the ascension or death of kings and queens, the election or death of heads of state, assassinations, uprisings and massacres, currency and the stock exchange, the Vatican and European Union.
With the full moon conjoining Regulus, this can bring to light occult interests, influential friends, danger from enemies and false friends, gain by speculation, public prominence, great power, honour, wealth, benefits that seldom last, violence, trouble and sickness. It can also make women high spirited and independent.
Numerologically, 28° is reduced to 10 and then to 1, representing the Sun, Leo, and Aries. Meaning that with this intense full moon, any crisis it may bring will catapult us into a rebirth of our identity, will, and courage! This is the time to embrace the spiritual warrior within us! This is the time to fight for love!
This Full Moon will affect most strongly Leo, Aquarius, Taurus, and Scorpio. More specifically, those of you who have your Sun, Moon, Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven, I.C. or any other important planet or point in your chart around 28° of these signs (give or take 2-3 degrees, the maximum orb being 5 degrees).
- A massive opportunity for freedom and expansion comes – maybe out of the blue – on February 18th when Jupiter in Pisces (its sign of rulership) will sextile (harmonious aspect) Uranus in Taurus! Pay attention to any innovative and out-of-the-box ideas, propositions and deals! This is a huge energetic boost towards new lucrative endeavours, projects, and purchases. You’ll have to put a little bit of an effort to reach positive results, though, as it’s a sextile and not a trine. There will be a catch to whatever opportunity comes your way. Don’t let that discourage you. March on with confidence.
This positive aspect between both planets will be ongoing until the end of the month. Make the best out of it.
The Jupiter/Uranus sextile will be most supportive of Taurus, Capricorn, Virgo, Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces.
The Sun will enter dreamy and mystical Pisces on the same day until March 20th, wrapping up the astrological year. This is an excellent time for artistic inspiration, connecting to our higher ideals and dreams, transcendental love and compassion, and spirituality.
Happy Birthday to all my Pisces readers and followers out there!
Pisces season will be most beneficial for Pisces, Scorpio, Cancer, Taurus, and Capricorn.
“William Shakespeare: My story starts at sea, a perilous voyage to an unknown land. A shipwreck. The wild waters roar and heave. The brave vessel is dashed all to pieces. And all the helpless souls within her drowned. All save one. A lady. Whose soul is greater than the ocean, and her spirit stronger than the sea’s embrace. Not for her a watery end, but a new life beginning on a stranger shore. It will be a love story. For she will be my heroine for all time. And her name will be Viola.” Shakespeare in Love – 1998.
May love lift you up where you belong!
