Dear NightFall Astrology readers,
Quick, grab your helmet and set up the nets! There’s a fierce determination in the air this week! We’re still under that New Moon in Virgo energy that prompted us into new detail-oriented projects regarding our work, health, wellness, and being of service to others in general. Humility is what gets us closer to God; this concept is perfectly represented by the sign of the Virgin and her season.
With the grandiose aspects formed by Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter, inspiration for determined action will be bubbling up to its maximum! Don’t put the cart before the horse, though! The Sun in Virgo continues to illuminate the analytical side of our consciousness, helping us to stay focused on our goals without overestimating our abilities.
Here’s your weekly horoscope.
1. Mars sextile Jupiter:
From August 30th until September 4th (exact on August 31st and September 1st), two daredevil planets, Mars and Jupiter, form a friendly sextile (60-degree angle) and pump us all full of courage. When it comes to taking precautions, it tends to be “Safety Third” for this cosmic duo—and we’ll all have to manage our reckless impulsivity during this amusement-park-ride of a transit. Since energetic Mars is powering it up in loquacious Gemini, make every statement count! Even more so since truth-telling Jupiter is retrograde in unbridled Aries. Words can create worlds of magic near Thursday and Friday or feel like shots fired if you weaponise your message. It’s recommended to stay on the productive side of the fence. SO much can be accomplished through the power of partnership this week, but it’s just as easy to start a war.
And remember, textiles bring opportunities that require a little bit of action on our part, so don’t miss a lucky break just because you’ll have to send one more email or piece of paperwork or even make another phone call!
This transit will be most auspicious for Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Gemini, and Aquarius.
2. Mercury opposing Jupiter:
From August 31st until September 6th (exact on September 2nd and 3rd), opinions will be flying around like never before! Everyone’s an “expert” at this time when mouthy Mercury in Libra opposes (challenging 180-degree angle aspect) know-it-all Jupiter retrograde in Aries. But folks might be preaching advice with limited information. Before you get hooked by the hype, take time to research what you’ve heard—and check a few credible sources. Throughout the day, it could feel like everyone is carrying on their own conversation while not listening to what anyone else has to say. Try not to add to the cacophony. You’re probably wasting your breath if you have to fight to be heard. Map out your vision on paper, then pitch it on a day when people are more open to input. For now, your best bet is to pop in your earbuds, turn on the white noise station (or your favourite productivity music) and drown out the drama. Is someone trying to sell YOU on a big idea? If it sounds too good to be true, this starmap practically ensures that it is.
This transit will be most challenging for Aries, Libra, Capricorn, and Cancer.
3. Mercury trine Mars:
From September 1st until September 8th (exact on September 3rd), Mercury in Libra will trine (120-degree angle harmonious aspect) Mars in Gemini. This can translate into intense mental and physical stimulation. It’s very favourable for any kind of communication, putting plans into action, increased productivity in day-to-day life, improved verbal skills, and any fun and leisure activities with friends, co-workers, or relatives.
This transit will be most supportive of Gemini, Libra, Aquarius, Leo, and Aries.
4. The last quarter moon trining Jupiter, sextiling Saturn and squaring Neptune:
What’s a mirage, and what’s material truth? Saturday and Sunday’s quarter moon shines its balancing beams into Sagittarius, the zodiac’s authenticity cop. The good news is that you can stop strategising and just keep it real. You might even pull back the curtain on one of your own secrets, either sharing your formula for success or revealing one of your harder-won lessons. But if you’ve been trying to “compensate” for a mistake that’s been keeping you awake at night, look out! Against your will, these moonbeams could break the news like the planetary paparazzi. A wise move? Get ahead of the story by spilling the beans yourself. Even if the confession feels excruciating in the moment, you know what they say—the truth will set you free. Of course, there IS such a thing as “Too Much Honesty”. You might spare people a few of the sordid details and paint in broader brushstrokes. This will give people a chance to process any initial shock or upset without having to picture every agonizing play-by-play. Since Sagittarius is the sign of broader horizons, this quarter moon could nudge you to sign up for that life-changing travel experience (especially before next Friday, September 9th, when Mercury turns retrograde!) or enrol in advanced training. Since this is a moderate quarter moon, your journey doesn’t have to involve a 30-hour flight or a university degree. Think: four-day weekends and six weekly workshops, either IRL or perhaps via game-changing webinars.
The trine and sextile will be most supportive of Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Aquarius, and Gemini. The square to Neptune will be most challenging for Pisces, Sagittarius, Gemini, and Virgo.
Grab this week by the horns and make things happen!
