Dear NightFall Astrology readers,
“Keep your emotions under control” is the week’s motto with the upcoming Mars/Saturn conjunction. This is the week when you want to avoid switching abruptly from maximum anger and frustration to loving sweetness. If you really need to share grievances or be brutally honest with someone, choose the right time and place instead of flying off the handle. Give preference to scenarios where you can keep your integrity and be conscious of your choices.
You’ll be rewarded by the planet of love, Venus, entering its sign of exaltation (one of its best positions) of Pisces, boosting our relationships with compassion, empathy, and overflowing romance.
Here’s your weekly horoscope.
1. The Mars/Saturn conjunction:
The two malefics in astrology will be blending their energies in conjunction from April 3rd until April 8th (the aspect becomes exact on April 4th and 5th) at 23° of Aquarius. While Mars is all about action, passion and aggression, Saturn is the significator of strategy, discipline, and timing. So yes, here we are again, just like the Venus/Saturn conjunction of last week, we’re stuck between starting our engines and hitting the brakes!
As the planets tangle in futuristic Aquarius, good luck figuring out the right next step for your life. It’s probably best to just pull over to the side of the road and check the GPS! If you hit a speed bump, don’t curse it. It may be a blessing in disguise. Perhaps you’ve been racing ahead without a proper plan in place. Cautious Saturn warns us that haste makes waste—is that a message you need to heed? If you’ve been stalled in neutral, Mars brings the jumper cables and gets you back on the freeway of life. Try to stay cool. Mars will pull ahead of Saturn in a week, and clarity will return. Meanwhile, see if you can stop fixating on the future and just “be here now.”
Aquarius is all about emotional detachment (it’s an intellectual air sign, remember?). As I’ve mentioned in this horoscope’s introduction, this is the type of situation where you need to ‘time’ your honesty and express it in an emotionally detached way. If you give in to anger and frustration, you’d be more prone to conflicts and accidents. More importantly, all our actions should remain conscious. Avoid at all costs instant emotional outbursts; that’s slipping into the unconscious/autopilot side of you.
Adding more tension to this aspect, both Mars and Saturn will be squaring (tense aspect) the North Node in Taurus and the South Node in Scorpio. While Mars will be squaring exactly the nodal axis, Saturn’s square to it will become exact next week but is already being activated with the conjunction.
What does it mean to have these planetary ‘bad guys’ squaring the Nodes of the Moon?
- Mars with the Nodes: this is one of the most intense aspects. We can become very heroic right now. This is when we will have to fight for our lives, our belief systems, and justice. This is when we’re wrestling with our own ability to take on the world. This is when a lot of anger can be our fuel; this is the kind of energy that one can be willing to lose everything to win at something that holds significant meaning, value, and purpose for us. We can wrestle with making intense sacrifices. The dilemma of having a choice can be felt very strongly, and constantly having to make a choice can be very frustrating. It may take on the feeling of fighting to the death of oneself for a higher cause.
- Saturn with the Nodes: This is when we can step into the mastery of our own genius. We can also step into our highest self, morality, character, and best self. Some of us probably will be elevated into a leadership role (it usually involves some kind of sacrifice, though, such as getting fired from a current position to be hired at a better and much higher ranked one). This is a time when we’ll have to work very hard, collectively, leading to great potential. We could also feel the weight of the world on our shoulders. This aspect is very karmic, so whatever opportunities find you, don’t turn them down as they can be literal life changers. It is a “cash out your karma” time when Saturn is playing with you. We might also have to atone for our wrongdoings; someone might confront us about them. And it’s a time when we’d stand in the desire for resurrection and apology. It’s essential to make the right choices for our higher selves. This is a time to work hard, to build and grow our lives. With Saturn squaring the nodal axis, this is a “make you or break you” aspect.
There is help from the Stars, though. In the evening of April 4th into 5th (CET time zone), the Moon in Cancer (its home sign) will be making a minor Grand Trine with Jupiter and Neptune in Pisces (that are almost conjunct, but we’ll cover this super rare aspect next week!), and Pluto in Capricorn, providing us with the emotional tools of compassion, empathy and discernment, in order to keep our peace.
As you can see, all these aspects put together are begging us to step into our ultimate integrity. This isn’t the time to let our negative emotions take hold of us.
These challenging aspects will affect Aquarius, Taurus, Scorpio, and Leo the most.
2. Venus enters Pisces:
On Tuesday, April 5th, ardent Venus leaves airy, intellectual Aquarius and plunges into the fantasy-fueled waters of Pisces. Let the birds chirp louder, and the bees amplify their buzz. The love planet is “exalted” in the sign of the Fish, meaning its alluring powers are extra potent during this four-week phase. This enchanting cycle can spur a romantic renaissance if you reduce your speed. Relaxing will put you in a receptive state, ideal for creating magic and enjoying heart-opening moments. Try to keep one foot in the reality zone, though. Pisces is the master of illusions, which works to compose love sonnets but can be dodgy when screening Tinder dates. Run the background searches (and take your time!) to avoid falling head over red soles for someone who isn’t 100 per cent available or reliable. Couples may need to do some forgiveness work or process old pain that’s blocking intimacy. The good news is, with Venus in Pisces, you can really go deep.
We are also moved to help those in need, show compassion and love, give unconditionally, and be kind to one another.
This transit will be most supportive of Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio, Taurus, and Capricorn.
3. The Mercury/Saturn sextile:
Here’s another positive aspect that will help you stay grounded in your mind and not give in to the aggressiveness of the Mars/Saturn conjunction!
Mercury in Aries will be sextiling Saturn in Aquarius from April 6th until April 8th (exact on April 7th). Sextiles always bring opportunities that you’ll have to invest yourself in (they won’t fall in your lap). In this case, this aspect gives practical, structured and disciplined thinking and communication. This is excellent energy for hard mental work, business, managing, and planning. We could find ourselves on the receiving end of some practical advice that should be considered.
This transit will be most supportive of Aquarius, Libra, Gemini, Aries, and Sagittarius.
4. Jupiter becomes visible:
Have you been wondering where has the ‘luck’ that Jupiter in Pisces has promised us gone? Well, Jupiter became invisible to the naked eye on February 19th, and we’ve been seeing morality, justice, optimism, and benevolence being seriously undermined ever since. But the good news is that this giant ‘Santa Claus’ will become visible as a Morning Star on April 8th and remain so until March 28th, 2023!
All Jupiter-ruled activities such as teaching, guidance, guidance from Higher power, intuition, and charity will be boosted! People born under Jupiter’s signs (Sagittarius and Pisces) will feel reinvigorated!
5. The Mercury/Pluto square and Mercury entering Taurus:
On April 10th, choose your words wisely as Mercury, the planet of communication in Aries, will be making a T-square with Pluto in Capricorn and the Moon in Cancer in the last critical degrees of these signs. This is a very challenging astrological configuration that requires a lot of effort to get above the following:
Mentally obsessive thoughts, suspicious or more fearful/gloomy/broody state of mind, power struggles, secret or private information surfacing, tensions or manipulative influences when working in groups.
On the flip side, this is a good aspect for investigating, researching, and psychological analysis.
This T-square will be most challenging for Capricorn, Aries, Libra, and Cancer.
But, fear not! In the evening of April 10th for my North-American readers and the early morning of April 11th for my European ones, savvy Mercury swings into efficient Taurus, bringing bonus support to the project-management department between now and April 29th. From budgets to timelines to human resources, how can you get your vision running like a well-oiled machine? If you’ve put the cart before the horse, slow your roll. Simplify anything that’s become overly complex…but not at the expense of luxury! Tasteful Taurus loves life’s finer things, as long as they also serve a purpose. Maybe it’s time to invest in an ergonomic desk chair or live-edge wood table to style up a conference room.
Mercury’s transit in Taurus will be most supportive of Taurus, Capricorn, Virgo, Cancer, and Pisces.
This week do your best to see the positive and negative consequences of being honest and see the positive and negative consequences of being strategic. And based on that awareness, consciously decide what to do with your truth.
