Uranus, the planet of innovation, unexpected events, revolution, originality, individuality and humanity, is finally coming out of its 6-month retrograde (since August 2020) on January 14th, 2021 at exactly 09:36 AM (CET).
What’s a planet’s retrograde? “Astronomers use the term to refer to the occasional backwards motion of the planets as seen in Earth’s sky. When used in this way, retrograde motion is entirely an illusion caused by the moving Earth passing the outer planets in their orbits”. Astrologically speaking, a retrograde period turns the planet’s energies and what it represents inwards. It’s time to review all the themes in our lives related to that planet.
In the case of Uranus going retrograde (Rx) in Taurus, we went through a 6-month period of reevaluating and reviewing our ideas about our self-worth (Taurus) and how can be useful to the world. Original ideas about entrepreneurial and financial projects might have stricken us out of nowhere (not really, Uranus has been making us think on a higher level). Uranus is considered to be the higher octave of Mercury, the planet of communication and thought processes. So any ingenious idea that has been sparked by Uranus during that long Rx period will be most probably put into action (depends on our free will) when it turns Direct. After the 14th of January, all planets will be Direct until May 23rd, when Saturn will go into a 5-month retrograde until October.
It’s advisable to put projects into motion and work intensely on them while all the planets are Direct. We’re being totally supported by the Cosmos in our actions.
The dispositing planet of Uranus in Taurus is Venus. It’s currently transiting the sign of Capricorn and will be trining Uranus when it turns Direct. This is a harmonious aspect not to be missed, as both planets are in earth signs (money, health, business, stability), and stable long-term relationships and projects may become successful if pragmatic action is put into them. However, Venus will be also squaring (dissipating so the energy isn’t that strong) the asteroid Chiron in Aries, the wounded healer. This is a tense aspect and a call to action when it comes to expressing our self-worth and identity. Chiron in Aries is all about healing the ego and identity of each one of us.
A word of caution though. At the same time, Saturn in Aquarius will be still exactly squaring Mars in Taurus. We might feel held back by outer circumstances or authority figures regarding our actions. This might translate into some impulsive anger irruptions, which we will regret later. It’s a week-long aspect, don’t push it.
Jupiter in Aquarius is coming off the square it made to Mars (overreaction coming from excessive optimism), a couple of days ago. Nonetheless, it’s getting ready to square Uranus on January 17th, which can push us to excessive rebellion in asserting our self-worth and values. There’s support though: Mercury in Aquarius, coming off of Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, and Uranus (all tense aspects) will be in exact conjunction with the Moon in Aquarius. Which means that some mental and emotional balance and clarity are possible.
Finally, the Sun will be conjoining Pluto in Capricorn exactly (24°) on this day (January 14th). This will illuminate what has been hidden deep inside of ourselves or in the world when it comes to governments, the status quo, corporations and big financial institutions. It’s not an easy aspect. Pluto brings out the impurity/unpleasant parts of ourselves to the surface in order to deal with them: clean them up, heal and transform.
We have a small window of opportunity before the explosive aspects between Mars and Uranus on January 20th, and the year-long Saturn/Uranus square that will become exact for the first time on February 17th, to be clear-minded about what we want and how we’re going to achieve it.
