The most intense day of the year is here! Tonight, at exactly 08:55 PM CET, Mars will conjoin Uranus at 6°44′ of Taurus.
Mars, the planet of aggression, war, drive, action and Uranus, the planet of unexpected events, rebellion, eccentricity, innovation are making a 0° degree angle, merging their energies in one 3rd type of energy in the Fixed earth sign of Taurus. Not only that, but both of them are making a tight square (a tense 90° angle) with Jupiter in Aquarius, the planet of expansion, big ideas, ideologies, politics, philosophy, law, optimism. So, we have an outburst of energy in everything ruled by Taurus: our values and our money; more directly speaking the Earth as well. Jupiter comes and adds to the tension. Expect the unexpected when it comes to protests, natural disasters, fluctuations in the financial markets and the economy, and political drama. Aquarius (the sign ruling humanity, technology, innovation, rebellion for a cause) is naturally ruled by Uranus, but this planet is in its fall in Taurus, it’s weak; so is Mars, it’s in detriment there.
Bringing us to excessively rebellious energy that is halted by Saturn that is not far away from Jupiter (+7° orb), and is squaring Mars and Uranus in Taurus. Remember, whenever we’re making a horoscope in astrology, we always have to look at the strength of the planets. At first glance at this event’s chart, one might think that since Jupiter does better in Aquarius than Uranus and Mars in Taurus, the energy will favour the people vs the establishment/the status quo. Think again. Saturn is the ancient ruler of Aquarius, it’s still very strong there, stronger than all the other 3 planets we mentioned. The needed changes in our society won’t happen without a struggle. With such tense aspects, there’s always a crisis before things start to get better. Mars is injecting energy into the crisis.
Whatever we witness today in the world and in our own lives, we should try to remain pragmatic (Taurus) and detached (Aquarius) about it; that’s how the original ideas/solutions come. The Moon would have just entered Taurus at the time of the conjunction, stabilising our emotions as it’s exalted in this sign. Not without some tension though, as it will be squaring the Sun that had entered Aquarius 24hrs ago, pointing our consciousness towards realising the type of new 20-year cycle started on December 21st, 2020 when Jupiter and Saturn met at in 0° of Aquarius. The tension is between our values, our comfort and our souls in need of evolution and changes towards something greater. The emotions and the mind must be reconciled through inspired practical action. This will push us towards further healing of our identities, as the Sun in Aquarius will start sextiling Chiron in Aries.
The dispositor of the conjunction in Taurus, Venus in Capricorn, is helping us to be more empathetic and diplomatic towards our fellow man, as it’s starting to sextile (harmonious 60° angle) Neptune in its own sign of Pisces, the planet of healing, imagination, spirituality and media. This is a great aspect for taking any kind of relationship (romance, business, friendship, family) to the next level.
This Mars/Uranus conjunction, the Jupiter/Uranus square, the Saturn/Uranus square that will last throughout all of 2021, are already showing us that whatever new geopolitical alliances come out of this crisis, will be more focused on shared values (Uranus in Taurus) rather than geography. Uranus in 6 degrees of Taurus brings a similar energy to the one we had in February-March 1937, a year that was marked by:
- the Spanish civil war,
- Napoleon Hill’s self-help book “Think and Grow Rich” is first published in the United States,
- New London School explosion: In the worst school disaster in American history in terms of lives lost, the New London School in New London, Texas, suffers a catastrophic natural gas explosion, killing in excess of 295 students and teachers. Mother Frances Hospital opens in Tyler, Texas, a day ahead of schedule, in response to the explosion,
- The encyclical Divini Redemptoris of Pope Pius XI, critical of communism, is published,
- William H. Hastie becomes the first African American appointed to a federal judgeship in the United States.
The next 20 years of our lives will definitely be very interesting, to say the least. Until my next post. Stay healthy and safe.
