I. Venus enters Capricorn:

On November 11th, Venus shifts into Capricorn, where it will settle until December 7th. Known for its cool, structured demeanour, Capricorn signals a more grounded, practical approach to matters of affection, beauty, and personal values over the coming weeks. Venus in this earth sign suggests a focus on stability, loyalty, and tangible rewards in relationships and financial endeavours. In other words, the celestial climate favours substance over sparkle; flashy gestures and flimsy promises likely won’t get very far in Capricorn’s discerning gaze.

Venus here suggests that relationships built on mutual respect and responsibility take precedence, and the idea of “quality over quantity” speaks louder than ever. A serious commitment vibe seems to run through this transit, where people might find themselves evaluating their partnerships, friendships, and even professional networks with a sharper eye for longevity and dependability. Venus in Capricorn hints at an atmosphere where mere attraction takes a backseat to what can actually be relied upon when the initial charm fades. Flirting is likely less effective than direct statements of intent, and romantic whims might give way to considerations of compatibility, goals, and the realities of shared paths.

Financially, Venus in Capricorn highlights a call for strategic thinking, particularly for those who have perhaps let finances drift a bit in previous months. Here, Venus signals a time for careful budgeting, thoughtful investment, and a more conservative approach to spending. Capricious spending is about as likely to fly under this transit as a spontaneous poetry recital at a business meeting. This is not to say one should adopt miserly habits but rather that purchases and investments that reflect true worth and long-term value will resonate more harmoniously with the Venus-Capricorn influence. Whether it’s about trimming excess spending or planning for bigger financial goals, Venus in Capricorn nods approvingly to plans that are as practical as they are prudent.

Venus in Capricorn also nods toward a refined aesthetic marked by subtlety and quality rather than extravagance. It signals a time when people may feel drawn to classic, enduring styles rather than transient trends. Think fine tailoring, quality fabrics, and pieces that withstand both fashion’s fickleness and the wear of time. People may be less interested in chasing the latest and greatest than in securing items that promise to remain stylish through more than just one season. Even in creative pursuits, the focus may shift to perfecting technique, mastery, and the kind of work that reflects depth rather than mere flair.

At the collective level, Venus in Capricorn quietly suggests a recalibration in social and political spheres, where people may value actions over words and proven integrity over loud rhetoric. Public figures relying on charisma and charm may notice these traits hold less sway under Capricorn’s influence, with public opinion leaning towards those who demonstrate accountability and a disciplined approach. Here, reputation matters, and it’s likely those who uphold their responsibilities will gain the trust that others may find slipping away.

In short, Venus in Capricorn reflects a period where charm alone is unlikely to cut it. Relationships, finances, and creative pursuits are all viewed through a lens of practicality and durability. It’s a time to prioritise what truly holds value and let superficialities quietly slide out the door. Venus signals: formality and earnestness are in; fripperies, consider yourselves warned.

Venus, as the lesser benefic in Capricorn, will be most supportive of Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo, Scorpio, and Pisces placements.

II. Full Moon in Taurus & Saturn stations direct:

This Full Moon in Taurus is one of high intensity, promising the unexpected. Prepare for sudden, out-of-the-blue events in your life, or perhaps the surprising twists in someone else’s story. Something in which you’ve felt secure and steady may suddenly seem shaky. Brace yourself, expect the unexpected, and – if possible – try to keep a sense of humour.

This Taurus Full Moon, as noted, is certainly intense, occurring on 15 November at 10:28 PM (CET). The Sun and Moon will align at 24° of Scorpio and Taurus, respectively. Full Moons always find the Sun directly opposite the Moon, where the Moon reflects the Sun’s light at its fullest, illuminating the night. This is why Full Moons are often associated with heightened energy and notable events, sometimes even emergencies – and this one is set to be particularly charged.

The Moon, exalted in Taurus, is positioned in one of the most dignified and stabilising placements in astrology. Exaltation amplifies its harmonious qualities, and thus, a Taurus Moon typically instils a sense of groundedness, stability, contentment, and generosity. The energy is abundant and fulfilled. However, as the Full Moon occurs in the third decan of Taurus, Saturn’s influence emerges more prominently in this segment. Saturn, embodying themes of limitation, perseverance, and endurance, adds a serious undertone to the Taurus Moon’s usual warmth. Under Saturn’s stewardship, there may be a sense of waiting or working through challenges, circumstances where patience and resilience are key, as some developments will prove beyond personal control.

In addition, the Moon’s conjunction with Uranus in Taurus brings an unpredictable element to this lunation. Uranus, currently retrograde, intensifies its role as an agent of change, disruption, and revelation. This retrograde motion of Uranus in Taurus signifies a potent period of upheaval within the realm of Taurus themes: stability, personal values, finances, and resources. Retrograde Uranus suggests a revisiting of past shocks or unexpected transformations, reinforcing the sense that sudden changes may disrupt what once felt secure. Given this intense alignment, the potential for actual geological events – like an earthquake – cannot be ruled out. In a metaphorical sense, this could also feel like a psychological ‘earthquake’, where individuals experience profound inner shifts or awakenings.

Further intensifying the Full Moon’s potency is its conjunction with the fixed star Algol, traditionally known as “the Demon’s Head” or, in Arabic, raʾs al-ghūl. Algol represents Medusa’s head, a figure deeply entrenched in mythological violence and transformation. In astrology, Algol is considered one of the most malefic stars, symbolising themes of extremity, misfortune, and sometimes severe misadventure. Algol’s association with the planetary energies of Jupiter and Saturn amplifies its reputation as a star capable of elevating or entirely destabilising a situation, bringing either great success or profound hardship. Algol is not merely ominous but, for those on a high spiritual path, can also symbolise a powerful transformational journey, although typically accompanied by significant obstacles.

On the opposite end of this alignment, the Sun sits in the third decan of Scorpio, where it transitions from Mars’s governance to that of Venus. While Mars in Scorpio conveys an intensity focused on power and will, Venus imbues this final third with a hint of receptivity, harmony, and perhaps indulgence in passions. This adds a softer but complicated layer to the Scorpio Sun’s otherwise relentless energy. It reflects an interplay of desire and satisfaction, which, in this context, can lead to disillusionment upon attainment. This dynamic creates a powerful lesson: what we intensely desire may, in fact, yield unforeseen consequences or dissatisfaction once achieved.

Altogether, this Full Moon in Taurus, saturated with the influences of Saturn, Uranus, and Algol, asks for resilience in the face of abrupt changes and an openness to release outdated attachments. Its message is clear: to achieve true stability, one may have to confront deeply embedded patterns, endure surprising challenges, and transcend the illusion that our desires alone can satisfy us.

This Full Moon’s sextile to Neptune brings a welcome glimmer of hope and spiritual guidance, a reminder of a higher purpose amidst a turbulent celestial backdrop. Yet, with Neptune retrograde in Pisces, its usual inspiration and intuitive clarity are turned inward, inviting reflection on dreams and ideals that may have grown unrealistic. This retrograde state challenges us to ground spirituality and creative visions in practical reality, encouraging a reassessment of aspirations that may no longer serve.

Jupiter, also retrograde, is in Gemini—a placement known as “exile” because Jupiter operates in a sign opposite to its rulership in Sagittarius. In Hellenistic astrology, a planet in exile is weakened or challenged, as its natural qualities are at odds with the characteristics of the sign it occupies. Jupiter’s expansive, truth-seeking nature feels constrained in Gemini, a sign oriented toward detail, adaptability, and intellectual versatility rather than the broad horizons Jupiter typically seeks. This retrograde exile brings a reflective tone, urging us to re-evaluate how we communicate our beliefs, interpret information, and understand the broader meaning within the details. We may find ourselves second-guessing or overthinking, especially in areas where a too-optimistic approach may feel misplaced or insincere.

Mercury, in turn, is in Sagittarius—also an “exile” placement, as Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo but finds itself in a sign focused on breadth rather than precision. In Sagittarius, Mercury’s analytical, detail-focused nature is stretched by the Sagittarius need for expansive thought, big ideas, and vision. Mercury’s exile in Sagittarius thus encourages us to look at the bigger picture but may lead to difficulties with the details. Both planets, then, are in each other’s signs of rulership, a situation known as mutual reception. In Hellenistic astrology, mutual reception provides a form of support or cooperation between the two planets, allowing each to draw strength from the other. Even though they are in exile, Jupiter and Mercury in mutual reception can work together to blend optimism with reason, enabling constructive dialogue that bridges vision with practicality. This unique interaction softens the limitations of each planet’s exile, creating a rare opportunity for balanced communication that doesn’t lose sight of either the forest or the trees.

Meanwhile, Saturn’s station direct (earlier in the day) at precisely 12 degrees of Pisces introduces a powerful stabilising force. This degree, ruled by Jupiter in Hellenistic astrology, carries associations with intellectual authority, social prominence, and influence achieved through wisdom and rhetoric. Saturn here embodies the archetype of a respected guide, someone who uses words and knowledge to lead others. In Pisces, Saturn’s typically rigid qualities merge with compassion, imagination, and empathy, while retaining the discipline necessary to structure abstract ideals into reality. Saturn here calls for a grounded approach to spiritual and creative pursuits, requiring that we balance inspiration with responsibility.

The symbolism of this 12th degree of Pisces also highlights connections within community, alliances, and shared obligations. Ancient texts describe this degree as associated with “many brothers” and networks of support, suggesting that Saturn’s direct station here emphasises collaboration but within clear boundaries. Saturn’s influence urges us to ensure that collective goals align with integrity, particularly in professional or communal settings. For those in mentorship or authority roles, this placement calls for responsible guidance, encouraging a steady and disciplined presence within one’s social or professional circles.

Saturn’s influence at this degree further underscores the importance of language and knowledge in shaping legacy. It reminds us that intellectual and moral authority, when grounded in integrity, establishes lasting respect and influence. As Saturn resumes forward motion, it brings closure to its retrograde lessons, encouraging the integration of recent growth. In Pisces, Saturn insists on practical structures, even within the intangible realms of ideals and dreams. This station encourages us to build a legacy that goes beyond personal achievement, rooted in wisdom and social contribution.

This alignment unfolds as Pluto reaches the 29th anaretic degree of Capricorn, an intense and urgent position as Pluto nears its entry into Aquarius. The anaretic degree magnifies Pluto’s transformative energy, bringing a climactic reckoning with structures, power, and authority. Pluto here signals the final phase of Capricorn’s emphasis on hierarchy and tradition, heightening pressure to dismantle outdated systems and paving the way for Aquarius’s progressive ideals.

Adding to the intensity, Mars is in its shadow period, preparing to station retrograde on 6 December. This shadow period heightens sensitivity around assertiveness, ambition, and conflict, urging us to re-evaluate how we pursue goals and respond to challenges. Mars’s impending retrograde period suggests a more introspective approach to confrontation, advocating for strategic patience rather than impulsive action.

Mercury, too, is in its shadow period as it approaches a retrograde station at the end of November (25th–26th), casting a cautious tone over communication, contracts, and plans. As Mercury joins Mars in a preparatory phase, there’s an emphasis on slowing down and reassessing, preparing for a period of reflection and refinement. With both Mars and Mercury poised for retrograde, the end of the month invites us to reconsider words and actions, encouraging thoughtfulness and restraint.

Mercury’s opposition to retrograde Jupiter, combined with its T-square to Saturn, balances optimism with realism. The mutual reception between Mercury and Jupiter allows each to support the other despite their exiled positions, fostering meaningful dialogue and practical insight. Saturn’s grounding influence tempers the interaction with a sense of responsibility and depth, encouraging us to favour well-considered communication over superficial positivity.

Rounding out this complex scene, Mars in Leo forms an out-of-sign opposition to Pluto at the 29th degree of Capricorn, stirring power struggles and potential manipulation. Although Mars and Pluto are not in the same sign, their opposition introduces an intensity that could surface repressed conflicts or desires in need of resolution. This aspect signals endings that may feel challenging or chaotic, especially where compromise has been resisted. To navigate this period, we are urged to manage power dynamics thoughtfully, as attempts to force outcomes may expose hidden motives. Ultimately, this time calls for an integrity-driven approach to all interactions, with mindfulness as the key to handling the powerful energies at play.

In sum, this Full Moon’s energetic mix is both illuminating and destabilising: while goals may be reached (goals or situations that have started around the last New Moon in Taurus that happened on May 8th, 2024), they come with unexpected challenges or disillusionment, urging a deeper resilience and openness to transformation amid profound shifts in stability and purpose. This full moon will be felt most intensely by Scorpio, Taurus, Leo, and Aquarius placements, particularly if you have planets and/or important chart points around 24 degrees of these signs (give or take 1-5 degrees).
